Episode #4 - 11/26/07

LATEST UPDATE - As of approximately 6PM MST on Wednesday, November 28th, our host was apparently able to reinstate our podcast's play counter.  As of the time of this update (approximately 7:30PM MST, Thursday, November 29th,) a count of 18 is shown.  This reflects the number of listens since the counter was reinstated on Wednesday (about 24 hours worth.)  Extrapolating the numbers and in consideration of the likelihood that the majority of our listeners heard the podcast on Monday or Tuesday (before the counter was reinstated,) we believe the true listen count to be in the hundreds.  It is our sincere hope that our host can finally keep the play counter running on a permanent basis in time for our next episode (on Monday, December 3rd) so that we may actually gather some true metrics in regard to our rapidly growing listenership.  Based upon the number of website "hits," the word is clearly getting out, but we are curious (and we know some of you are too) as to how many folks are actually listening to the podcast (we know it's a lot, just not specifically how many.)  Everybody cross your fingers and hope that our host can keep it together, and make sure to tell 10 friends and have them tell 10 friends.  The next election grows sooner!  Thanks for your patience.

In episode #4, host John McJunkin interviews Duane "Generalissimo" Patterson, producer of Hugh Hewitt's nationally-syndicated radio talk show and blogger at Radio Blogger.com.  Warner Todd Huston regales us with an amusing bedtime story in the tradition of Mother Goose - providing a nice allegory for world events.  The Blue Collar Muse - Ken Marrero - sends a message to Hollywood. Andrea Shea-King issues a strong warning about the economic and military growth of China. Finally, John McJunkin presents reason number 3 in his 50-part weekly series, "Why Mrs. Clinton Will Never Be President."

    John,

Just finished listening to this week's episode and as usual, it sounds terrific. I laughed out loud at WTH's bedtime story! Ken Marrero is spot on with his observations about today's films, and your interview with "Generalissimo" touched on a topic we have often considered in our conversation -- how to marshall the energy and power of the conservative movement. And your series/take on why Hellary won't be elected? A tour de force!

As always, I enjoy being part of this august group!

    Andrea

In John's interview with Duane "Generalissimo" Patterson it was interesting to listen to his perspective on the difference between the conservative blogosphere versus the Collectivist blogosphere. Whether they call themselves Liberals or Progressives, they are all Collectivists and therefore move and think as a herd.

Thanks Andrea. I thought it would be fun to do a little allegorical story. You are right on about China, by the way. And... um... Ken? WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG? (I had to say it, you dared us) As always, Ken, good points about Hillary and great job on the podcast.

Each segment is great in its own way! I've listened to Duane "Generalissimo" Patterson on both Hugh Hewitt and Ed Morrisey. I thoroughly enjoyed your conversation, John, and your production talents are top notch. WTH, or should I call you Aesop, that was GREAT! Especially when you casually bring the farmer in to blast him with both barrels! Ken, my own "trophy bride" and I just discussed this very thing recently, as we watched TV. Couldn't agree more. And last, but not least, Andrea, you scared me, as I hope you did everyone else! Brings to mind the scripture in Revelation where it speaks of "soldiers from the East" crossing the dry Euphrates. It's mind boggling what countries may one day become the least of our worries. As usual, the depth of your mind and your reasearch is amazing.
