I was just reminded as I visited the Exurban League blog that Arizona CD-6 Congressman Jeff Flake is bucking for the opening on the House Appropriations Committee that came available when Congressman Roger Wicker was named to finish Trent Lott's term in the Senate.  There are few who more deserve the title of "porkbuster" than Jeff Flake.  There has been a strong push in the conservative side of the blogosphere to promote Flake for the position.  As far as I am concerned personally, I believe he should chair the Appropriations Committee.  Visit the Make It Flake website for details on how you can help influence the process.  I simply cannot think of any member of congress who would be better suited for a position on this committee if reduction in spending is a priority - and I'm not just saying that because I live in Flake's district.  Visit the website and spread the word.  Make It Flake!
